Daraz, a privately owned Pakistani company founded in 2012, operates an e-commerce platform. Currently employing approximately 12,160 people, its headquarters are located in Pakistan. While originally independent, Daraz is now owned by the Alibaba Group. In addition to e-commerce, the company also provides live sports streaming services.
Daraz Group's former Group Head of Marketplace and Bangladesh Chief Commercial Officer, Lu Yao, began working as PropertyGuru's Singapore managing director on September 15. In his previous role at Daraz, Yao shaped the company's commercial strategy in South Asia and led growth transformation efforts in Bangladesh. Separately, Daraz Bangladesh recently held its Seller Summit 2025 at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre. The event included the participation of Daraz Bangladesh managing director and Daraz Group chief commercial officer Ben Yi, and e-CAB administrator and commerce ministry’s Central Digital Commerce Cell coordinator Md Sayed Ali.
