DC Thomson, a privately owned company headquartered in the UK, was founded in 1905 and operates with approximately 850 employees. It focuses on technology, information, and media, operating a portfolio of newspapers and magazines, radio and TV assets, and events.
DC Thomson plans to publish a special set of Commando comics featuring Australian and New Zealand military personnel, alongside a "Sergeant Rayker" collection, to commemorate ANZAC Day on April 25, 2026. Previously, on March 26, the company released its latest Commando set, Issues 5943-5946, which features four sci-fi war stories from the title’s 1994 G-Tex Collection. Earlier, on January 21, DC Thomson was confirmed as a key sponsor and foundational partner for the National Year of Reading (NYR) 2026, a year-long initiative led by the National Literacy Trust and supported by the Department for Education to inspire reading for pleasure across the UK. In January, the company also released a special selection of Commando comics on January 15, celebrating the iconic art of Cam Kennedy, who began working for the title in 1968.
