Telecommunications provider Eastlink confirmed a data breach affecting 75,000 current and former customers. On September 1, 2026, the company's CEO stated that unusual login activity within its My Account system prompted an internal investigation, which led to the discovery of the breach. There is currently no information available regarding the perpetrators. This development followed Eastlink's initial warning to customers on August 29, 2026, when it sent emails to affected individuals regarding a potential data breach. At that time, the company, which operates in seven provinces and Bermuda, noted it did not believe credit card or banking information was exposed.
