EdgeConneX, a privately owned company headquartered in the US, was founded in 2009, operates with approximately 250 employees, and specializes in data centre infrastructure. The company builds and operates purpose-built data centers.
On April 3, 2026, EdgeConneX and its sister company PowerConneX hosted an Open House in Ashville, Ohio, where company representatives and consultants addressed community inquiries regarding the ongoing data center and power plant project. Previously, on April 1, EdgeConneX highlighted its sustainability commitment as a core operational principle, particularly as it builds infrastructure for the AI era. This followed the company's move on March 31 to tap capital markets, becoming the third EQT-backed data center owner to do so and signaling further data center securitisations. Earlier, on March 30, EdgeConneX began developing its first 200-megawatt (MW) AI-ready data center campus in Greater Osaka, Japan, in partnership with Kagoya Asset Management, reinforcing its commitment to the Japanese market and aiming to meet the region's growing demand for advanced digital infrastructure.
