On October 2, 2026, EWE, RWE, and Vattenfall announced an agreement to sell their shares in the alpha ventus offshore wind farm to Ocean Breeze Energy, the owner and operator of the BARD Offshore 1 wind farm. Previously, on September 24, EWE Group's subsidiary EWE GASSPEICHER GmbH awarded international industrial services provider Bilfinger a contract for a hydrogen treatment facility at its Huntorf storage site in Germany. This contract advances EWE's development of a large-scale hydrogen storage facility by converting an existing natural gas cavern. Earlier, on September 22, EWE awarded Deutsche Windtechnik (DWT) a contract for maintenance and additional services for 30 Siemens turbines at the Riffgat offshore wind farm.
