Friedrich Vorwerk Group SE secured a contract from EWE Netz GmbH, a subsidiary of German energy supplier EWE AG, to construct a hydrogen pipeline in Germany, according to a Wednesday announcement on July 15, 2026. Earlier, on June 26, EWE AG signed its first large-scale external green hydrogen procurement agreement with Salzgitter AG's subsidiary Salzgitter Flachstahl GmbH. This deal marks a key milestone in Germany’s hydrogen economy and the decarbonization of the steel industry. Previously, on June 24, EWE AG reported a 60% reduction in its Java licensing bill after migrating from Oracle to Azul Core, which standardized the infrastructure for over 100 applications and tens of thousands of desktops.
