On April 29, 2026, Vodafone Germany announced it is equipping its chatbot Tobi with generative AI from Google, rebranding it as SuperTobi. The upgraded chatbot will understand customer queries in greater detail and resolve them more independently by automatically accessing Vodafone's websites and internal product information, aiming to resolve significantly more inquiries from its 600,000 monthly customers. Previously, on April 1, Vodafone Deutschland signed Glasfaser Nordwest, a joint venture between Telekom Deutschland and EWE, as a wholesale broadband partner. From autumn, they will jointly market Vodafone’s fibre broadband services to businesses and homes delivered on Glasfaser Nordwest infrastructure. Earlier, in late March, Vodafone Germany selected Aurora Networks (now part of ARRIS/CommScope) and HUBER+SUHNER to upgrade its cable network. This collaboration focuses on deploying a Remote PHY solution using advanced Distributed Access Architecture and virtual CMTS technologies to enable multi-gigabit services, long-term scalability, and sustainable network expansion. Vodafone Germany will utilize Aurora's vCCAP Evo platform and QAM video systems, with HUBER+SUHNER supplying Remote PHY devices.
