On February 11, 2026, numerous owners of a Fritzbox 5690 Pro or Fritzbox 7690 reported experiencing drastic drops in internet speed following a recent update. This follows FRITZ!'s introduction on February 10 of the FRITZ!Box 7632, a new high-speed router designed to enable gigabit speeds on DSL connections, supporting G.fast for up to 1 Gbit/s via copper lines. Earlier, on February 5, FRITZ! (formerly AVM) reopened its Fritz lab, releasing FritzOS 8.24, a new beta firmware available for six FritzBox models to test new functions and optimizations. Previously, on February 4, Fritz began selling its Wi-Fi 7 fibre router, the Fritz!Box router 4630, for EUR 169. The company had introduced this router last year at the Anga Com trade fair; it functions with a fibre-optic modem (ONT) to provide speeds up to 2.5 Gbps and supports Wi-Fi speeds up to 2880 Mbps in the 5 GHz band and up to 688 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band.
