Genelec, a privately owned Finnish company founded in 1978, manufactures audio products. Employing approximately 180 people, the company's primary output consists of studio monitors and active speaker systems intended for professional and home use, including AV installations. On September 9, 2025, Genelec celebrated the opening of Studio33:3, a new recording studio in Natick, MA, featuring Genelec Smart Active Monitoring. Later that month, in Tokyo, Japan, Avex Prime Sound Studio Form upgraded its flagship Room 1, replacing its Genelec 1035A main monitors with the 1235A Smart Active Monitoring models. In October, Genelec participated in two events: Audiovisual Expo in Tampere, Finland, from October 8-9, showcasing Installed Sound solutions; and Beatcon 2025 in Berlin, Germany, from October 3-4, where demonstrations of Genelec audio monitoring were featured.
