Georgian Public Broadcasting (GPB), a state-owned entity headquartered in Georgia, is the national public broadcaster. Established in 2004 following the adoption of the Law on Broadcasting, GPB's origins trace back to 1925 with the launch of radio broadcasting and 1956 with the commencement of television broadcasts. Currently employing approximately 260 people, GPB's primary output is television and radio programming. Its First Channel reaches 85% of the Georgian population, while the Second Channel reaches 55%. Programming is also available via satellite and internet to several European and Asian countries.
