Globomedia, a privately owned Spanish film and television production company founded in 1993, is a subsidiary of Mediapro Studio. Headquartered in Spain, it employs approximately 430 people and its primary business involves the creation and distribution of film and television rights.
The Mediapro Studio announced on an unspecified date that María José Rodríguez will become Globomedia's managing director, starting September. This followed the announcement by Amazon MGM Studios that Rodríguez departed as head of Spanish Originals. Globomedia partnered with RTVE and Good Mood to create the Spanish series *Estoy vivo*, which premiered on September 7, 2017, on La 1 TV.
