Globomedia, a privately owned company headquartered in Spain, is a subsidiary of Mediapro. Founded in 1993, the company operates with approximately 430 employees. Functioning as a Spanish production company and part of Mediapro Studio, Globomedia specializes in content rights.
On January 21, 2026, RTVE presented "Barrio Esperanza," a dramedy created by Iván Escobar and Antonio Sánchez Olivas, produced in collaboration with Globomedia (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO), at Content Americas 2026. The series was highlighted as RTVE's main bet for the American continent, introduced as a new product not previously shown in any market. Previously, on August 29, 2025, Globomedia hired María José Rodríguez after her exit from Amazon MGM Spain.
