Vancouver Media is a privately owned company headquartered in Spain, founded in 2016, with approximately 70 employees. Functioning as a vertically integrated mass media television studio, high-concept fiction factory, and global intellectual property incubator, the company specializes in entertainment content rights. Founded by showrunner, screenwriter, and producer Álex Pina, the enterprise operates under his executive leadership as Chief Executive Officer, alongside Executive Producer Esther Martínez Lobato, pioneering a methodology for episodic television. In July 2018, the corporation entered into an exclusive global multi-year overall deal with Netflix, which was subsequently renewed and extended, establishing Vancouver Media as a core European production hub for the network and marking Netflix's first-ever exclusive creator contract in Europe. The studio maintains a proprietary intellectual property repository, with its visual catalogue and multi-market franchise library including productions such as La Casa de Papel (Money Heist), which won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series and is recognized as one of the most-watched non-English series of all time, its spin-off Berlin, the thriller White Lines, the action-drama Sky Rojo, the pandemic drama El Refugio (The Bunker), and the series El Atasco.
