GNET hosted the conference on May 27 as part of a joint two-day event alongside the Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT)’s Global Multi-Stakeholder Forum at King’s College London. Previously, on June 8, GNET released research titled "Enabled Harms: The Transference of AI Knowledge from Cybercriminals to Extremists." The report highlighted the growing adoption of artificial intelligence by violent extremist actors, including Salafi-Jihadists and neo-Nazis, for various uses such as translation, propaganda generation, attack planning, and misinformation dissemination. The research also noted that cybercriminals are currently driving the most sophisticated and scalable AI-enabled harms, indicating an eroding boundary between these two groups.
