News Summary:

On December 16, 2024, Hispasat announced its role in the IRIS² project, designing, delivering, and operating the governmental ground segment for secure telecommunications services to Member States. Hispasat will also lead the development and operation of the Low LEO layer, incorporating innovative missions and ensuring the participation of the European New Space ecosystem. Separately, on January 21, 2025, news emerged regarding Hispasat's involvement in the QKD-GEO mission, described as the world's most advanced civil project in its area, aiming to produce unhackable ground-orbit keys. On January 23, 2025, Hispasat launched Tower Insight, a solution for continuous monitoring of cellular tower status using sensor data uploaded to a web platform. Finally, on June 18, 2025, an agreement between the European Space Agency (ESA) and Hispasat was announced for the initial phase of Q-Design, a project combining Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) through geostationary and low orbit satellites and terrestrial infrastructure.
