News Summary:

On March 13, 2026, Eutelsat exited capacity leases on two Russian spacecraft, a decision driven by the in-orbit failure of one satellite and the planned relocation of the other, which allowed the company to conclude contracts impacted by Western sanctions and the structural decline in TV broadcasts from geostationary orbit (GEO). Eutelsat had announced the termination of these capacity contracts for the RSCC-owned Express AT1 and AT2 satellites on March 12, 2026. This termination followed the failure of RSCC's Express AT1 satellite at 56 degrees East and the planned relocation of Express AT2 from 140 degrees East. Separately, on March 12, 2026, Eutelsat also closed a €1.5 billion bond offering, which Chief Financial Officer Sebastien Rouge described as a "decisive turning point in the Group’s transformation."
