Huawei, a Privately Owned company headquartered in China, founded in 1987 and employing approximately 165,000 individuals, reported $120.1B in revenue as of 2024. The company specializes in telecoms, functioning as a global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. It offers solutions across four key domains – telecom networks, IT, smart devices, and cloud services.
Huawei is reportedly poised for a comeback in the Indian smartphone market. Earlier on March 15, the company unveiled the Watch GT Runner 2, which includes adaptive training plans and accessibility features such as a wheelchair mode, now available in a new blue color. Concurrently, a review of the Huawei Mate X7 foldable smartphone highlighted its robust camera setup while noting areas for improvement in cellular connectivity and performance when compared to other 2026 flagship foldables. Earlier that day, the Huawei Watch D2, a health-focused smartwatch capable of measuring blood pressure via a specialized bracelet and continuously monitoring heart rate with arrhythmia detection, went on sale. This activity follows expectations that Huawei, alongside Oppo, will introduce a series of new flagship devices in April, aiming to influence the smartphone market.
