The convention also released its final numbers for 2026 on September 22, reporting 41,225 attendees from 170 countries and more than 1,300 exhibitors. This represented a roughly 6% decline in visitors compared to the previous year, with 2,633 fewer attendees, although the exhibitor count remained broadly stable. Previously, on September 17, observers at IBC2026 noted a shift in media technology, with broadcast infrastructure increasingly moving into software, browsers, and the cloud, making equipment physically less visible and allowing workflows to be demonstrated via screens rather than dedicated racks.
