News Summary:

On September 8, 2026, a collaborative project involving Red Bee Media, Bitmovin, Dotscreen Ad Insertion Platform (AIP), and RMB, which delivered work for Belgian public broadcaster RTBF, was shortlisted as a finalist in the Content Everywhere category at the IBC Innovation Awards 2026. This follows news from July 28, 2026, when UK public broadcaster Channel 4 awarded Encompass Digital Media a multi-year contract to manage linear playout for all six of its channels. Encompass replaced Red Bee Media as the incumbent provider, a change that came after Red Bee Media’s 2021 broadcast centre failure left Channel 4's subtitles offline for nearly two months and contributed to an Ofcom license breach for the broadcaster.
