Independent Television

Independent Television is a privately owned company headquartered in Bangladesh and operates under the Beximco Group. Founded in 2011 as a joint broadcasting enterprise with India-based NDTV, the company specializes in broadcast television and radio. Functioning as a 24-hour satellite news channel, Independent Television commenced full commercial operations on July 28, 2011, after receiving its license on October 20, 2009, and beginning test feeds in 2010. Operating from its broadcast complex in the Tejgaon Industrial Area of Dhaka, it was the first Bangladeshi channel to broadcast using MPEG-4 transmission technology with a fully automated Media Asset Management (MAM) technical workflow.
