Inea Telecom, also known as Inea, is a privately owned company headquartered in Poland. Founded in 1994, it employs approximately 1,630 individuals and reported $107.3M in revenue as of 2024. Operating as a tier 2 media tech buyer, the company functions as a Polish telecoms operator, serving the western region of the country.
On September 23, 2026, Polish competition regulator UOKiK fined Inea PLN 1,882,000 and ordered the operator to refund unduly collected fees to consumers. The fine stemmed from Inea imposing unauthorized security charges, with the company also required to re-examine and favorably resolve complaints regarding the activation of its Inea Safe service and refund fees charged without proper customer consent. Previously, on September 21, Inea enabled Apple Pay and Google Pay support for payments on its Inea and My Inea applications, allowing customers to accelerate transactions by eliminating the need to insert bank numbers. This follows news from August 21 that Macquarie Asset Management is selling its stakes in Inea and Polish fiber-to-the-home network provider Fiberhost to Deutsche Telekom for €1 billion ($1.16 billion). The transaction, for which Deutsche Telekom announced its agreement on August 19, involves both companies being absorbed into T-Mobile Polska, Deutsche Telekom's Polish subsidiary, and is expected to conclude at the end of 2026. This acquisition aims to transform T-Mobile Polska into an integrated telecommunications service provider.
