The International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG), a privately owned organization founded in 1948 and headquartered in Greece, employs approximately 20 people. Its primary function is the promotion of sport and the Olympic ideals within the Mediterranean Basin countries. As of 2023, the ICMG's activities focus on supporting and coordinating sports teams and clubs within its region.
The International Committee of the Mediterranean Games (ICMG) Executive Committee approved the ICMG Safeguarding Framework and Policy, and appointed an IOC-certified Safeguarding Officer on April 12, 2025. The Organizing Committee for the XX Mediterranean Games Taranto 2026 appointed Luigi Mastrangelo as Head of the Schools Project. The Palazzo Troilo will serve as the new operational headquarters for the Taranto 2026 Organizing Committee, following approval by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Municipality of Taranto. Separately, the National Olympic Committee of Serbia celebrated Olympic Day on May 17, in Stragari, the birthplace of Dušan Milošević, a participant in the 1912 Stockholm Olympic Games. This event involved collaboration with the “Dušan Milošević – prvi srpski olimpijac” association.
