The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) President Kerrith Brown traveled to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on September 2, 2026, for preliminary discussions regarding the potential hosting of the 2027 IMMAF African Championships. Previously, on August 11, 2026, IMMAF reported that alumni Nina Nikolija Milošević and Bogdan Grad competed, and Dejan Tešić and Vladimir Badrljica served as officials, at the UFC's first event in Serbia, which took place on August 1. This followed news on July 24, 2026, that former IMMAF champions Abdul Hussein and Magomed Tuchalov were slated to make their UFC debuts at UFC Abu Dhabi. Earlier, on June 10, 2026, Abu Dhabi was confirmed to host the IMMAF Youth World Championships for the fifth consecutive year. This series of events began with IMMAF Junior World Champion Heorhii Hudz making a successful professional debut on June 1, 2026, in Kyiv, winning via TKO in the second round.
