Kingsoft, a privately owned company headquartered in China, was founded in 1988 and employs approximately 1440 individuals. The company operates as a software provider through four subsidiaries: Seasun, focused on video game development; Cheetah Mobile, which specializes in mobile internet applications; Kingsoft Cloud, offering cloud storage platforms; and WPS, responsible for office software, including WPS Office. Kingsoft has also developed security software known as Kingsoft Security.
On February 3, Kingsoft Office launched its WPS AI medical report writing assistant, described as the industry's first such tool, to improve writing efficiency. Previously, on January 29, Kingsoft Office, in collaboration with Huazhong University of Science and Technology, introduced the MonkeyOCR model. This model achieves over 90% accuracy in complex table scenarios by supporting functions such as restoring embedded images in tables and merging tables across pages. This follows Kingsoft Office's deployment of its WPS 365 “Enterprise Brain” to organization-level customers in East China on January 27. The deployment involved upgrading the WPS 365 Smart Document Library to create an enterprise-wide knowledge base and signaled a shift towards a "data-centric" approach in enterprise AI, with the "Enterprise Brain" functioning as a core engine designed to enhance business efficiency and activate knowledge assets.
