Previously, on March 13, 2026, Airbus advanced the development of an Uncrewed Collaborative Combat Aircraft (UCCA) system for the German Air Force, targeting 2029 for operational capability. The program combines the Kratos Valkyrie platform with Airbus’ sovereign European mission system, MARS, which features AI-powered MindShare software designed to coordinate missions across manned and uncrewed aircraft. Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. also confirmed on March 13 that a joint team continues progress on the integrated UCCA system for the German Air Force, preparing the first two Valkyries for their maiden flight with the European mission system.
