The following day, January 9, 2025, Maxar Technologies released further satellite imagery depicting the destruction caused by the Los Angeles fires, showing damage in Pacific Palisades and along the coastline between Malibu and Santa Monica; these fires resulted in at least five deaths and forced thousands to evacuate. Separately, on January 10, 2025, Maxar Intelligence announced a €13.6 million ($14.4 million) contract with the Netherlands Ministry of Defence. This four-year agreement grants the Defence Geographic Agency access to the Maxar Geospatial Platform Pro for mapping intelligence and operational missions.
