Kyoto Broadcasting System, privately owned and headquartered in Japan, is a tier 1 media tech buyer founded in 1951. The company operates as a commercial broadcasting station, primarily offering broadcast television and radio services. It conducts business in Kyoto Prefecture as KBS Kyoto and in Shiga Prefecture as KBS Shiga. Its radio station serves Kyoto and Shiga Prefectures and is a member of National Radio Network (NRN), while its television station serves Kyoto Prefecture as a member of the Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations (JAITS). Since April 1, 2005, Kyoto Broadcasting System has been broadcasting digital television in ISDB format.
