Tokyo Metropolitan Television Broadcasting Corporation, also known as Tokyo MX, is a privately owned entity headquartered in Japan. Founded in 1993, the company specializes in broadcast television and radio, functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Tokyo MX is an independent commercial television station that exclusively serves the Tokyo metropolis, operating as a member of the Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations (JAITS) and thus not affiliated with a major national network, which allows for a flexible programming strategy. Its services are centered on two broadcast channels, Tokyo MX1 and Tokyo MX2. The programming mix includes hyper-local content, such as news (including News Tokyo Flag), information, and local sports (like FC Tokyo matches), alongside a significant block of late-night anime, for which it has become known for broadcasting.
