Lao Dong (The Labor Newspaper), founded in 1989 and headquartered in Vietnam, is a state-owned media organization. Primarily known as a newspaper, it serves as the official publication of the Vietnamese General Confederation of Labor. Its operations also include broadcast television and radio services. It is considered one of Vietnam's longest-standing newspapers.
On July 3, reports indicated continued lines at Hanoi gold shops, with many stores limiting gold ring sales. A press conference for the 2025 Outstanding Enterprises for Workers Award was held on August 11 by the Viet Nam General Confederation of Labour, in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Viet Nam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Lao Dong Newspaper was assigned to host this event. Beginning in the fourth quarter of 2024, Hanoi will pilot a ban on single-use plastics in restaurants, coffee shops, and beverage outlets, according to a July 15 report. Finally, on August 18, four Sri Lankan students began five-year scholarship programs at Vietnam’s Cuu Long University.
