Latvijas Mobilais Telefons, also known as LMT, is a privately owned company headquartered in Latvia. It is a subsidiary of Telia Company. Founded in 1992, the company employs approximately 500 individuals and reported $335.0M in revenue as of 2024. LMT operates as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Functioning primarily in telecoms, it holds the distinction of being the first mobile network operator in Latvia.
Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT) plans to invest EUR 38 million in upgrading its network infrastructure in 2026, according to a June 8 report, which noted the deployment of ten new base stations and upgrades to more than 200 already this year. The Latvian operator, which currently manages over 1,700 base stations nationwide, also continues its work on the commercial development of 5G Standalone. Previously, on May 21, LMT IoT announced a new cooperation with Infineon Technologies AG to accelerate the development, deployment, and scaling of connected edge AI products for startups and product companies. On the same day, LMT reported that its cybersecurity solution prevented over 138.9 million threats to customer devices in April, with malware accounting for more than 125.2 million of these incidents.
