Estonia's warning apps still have room for improvement

Tuesday's emergency alert warning app test generally went well for the state's Eesti.ee portal, but there were problems with the Ole valmis! app. On Tuesday, the Rescue Board, Information System Authority (RIA), the Women's Voluntary Defense Organization (Naiskodukaitse), and the Ministry of the Interior's Information Technology and Development Center (SMIT), tested sending EE-ALARM test notifications to users through the Estonian app and Ole valmis! mobile application.

Average monthly salaries at 2 state-owned companies exceed €5,000

Newly released data shows the average monthly salaries at companies owned by the state vary from over €5,500 to €1,700 per month. Of the 25 companies owned by the state, the majority are fully state-owned. Among them, AS Eesti Varude Keskus (the Estonian Stockpiling Agency), which is responsible for forming and managing the country's strategic reserves, had the highest average total salary.

Digital Radio Now Reaches the Majority of Estonia’s Population

Digital radio, or DAB+, is now available to 85% of Estonia’s population following the activation of all broadcasting transmitters. Coverage extends across all major highways and larger cities throughout the country. DAB+ transmitters are now operating in Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Koeru (Järvamaa), Valgjärve (Põlvamaa), Uuemõisa (Läänemaa), Kohtla-Nõmme (Ida-Virumaa), Pehka (Lääne-Virumaa) and Orissaare (Saaremaa).
