Moov, a privately owned UK-based company founded in 2000, provides broadcast professional services specializing in virtual studios and graphics solutions. Employing approximately 90 people, the company reported revenues of less than $10 million in 2023.
In June 2024, Maroc Telecom Group reported a consolidated turnover of 18.26 billion dirhams (MMDH), a 0.9% increase. This growth was attributed to increased activity in Moov Africa subsidiaries, which saw a 3.7% rise. Maroc Telecom also reported resilient operational results for the first half of 2024, with a 5.1% increase in its customer base, reaching 78.4 million. Revenues grew by 0.9%, driven by the performance of Moov Africa subsidiaries. Specifically, Moov Africa experienced an 18.2% surge in mobile data revenues. In a separate development, Moov Africa Togo launched the Move Money ATM service with Ecobank-Togo, allowing Flooz mobile money service subscribers to withdraw cash from Ecobank ATMs without a bank card. However, Moov Africa Togo also received a XOF 1.26 billion (EUR 1.93 million) fine from the telecom authority Arcep for failing to meet quality of service standards, resulting in service disruptions for hundreds of thousands of customers. Finally, the company participated in the Chris Kamara and Jeff Stelling reunion on Prime’s Boxing Day special.
