Moov Africa Togo, a subsidiary of Maroc Telecom, was fined XOF 1.26 billion (EUR 1.93 million) for failing to meet quality of service standards, resulting in service disruptions for hundreds of thousands of mobile users in northern Togo. In collaboration with Ecobank-Togo, Moov Africa launched the Move Money ATM service, enabling subscribers of Moov's mobile money service, Flooz, to withdraw cash from Ecobank ATMs without a bank card. This partnership aims to enhance financial inclusion in Togo. Meanwhile, Maroc Telecom Group reported a consolidated turnover of 18.26 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of June 2024, a 0.9% increase attributed to the growth of Moov Africa subsidiaries. Despite declines in ADSL and Mobile revenues in Morocco, the group's H1 2024 operational results remained resilient, with a 5.1% increase in the customer base to 78.4 million. Moov Africa's Mobile Data revenues surged by 18.2%, while Fiber Optics in Morocco saw a 34.1% increase.
