MTV, a privately owned American cable channel founded in 1981, broadcasts television and radio programming. Headquartered in the US, and a subsidiary of Paramount TV Media, MTV's programming is distributed internationally to various countries.
Paramount Global, which includes MTV Entertainment Studios, filed its 2024 annual proxy statement, detailing compensation for its top executives: George Cheeks, Brian Robbins, and Chris McCarthy. On September 11, 2024, Taylor Swift and Post Malone attended the MTV Video Music Awards in Elmont, New York. Separately, on April 24, 2025, Austrian investor Cevdet Caner, through NIU Group, announced the acquisition of Chilean mining company Minera Tres Valles (MTV). The former MTV "Real World" house in Old City is seeking a new tenant.
