On August 21, 2026, Murf AI launched Falcon 2, a next-generation proprietary voice foundation model that reportedly outperforms OpenAI Realtime and ElevenLabs Flash and Turbo in naturalness on the independent Artificial Analysis Speech Arena, while also delivering significantly lower latency and cost. Previously, on August 20, the Bengaluru-based voice AI startup introduced Falcon 2 to strengthen its position in the real-time voice AI market and compete with companies including OpenAI and ElevenLabs, as CNBC-TV18 reported. This follows Murf AI's August 19 unveiling of Falcon 2 as a new text-to-speech model, which features over 150 voices in more than 35 languages. Priced at $0.01 per minute, the model is approximately 80% less expensive than ElevenLabs Turbo and is built for speed and real-time use.
