OpenSync, founded in 2015 and headquartered in the US, is a software company with approximately 210 employees. The company develops an open-source software-defined networking framework. This framework allows for the delivery and modification of programmable services on a large scale within customer premises equipment (CPE) and consumer networking devices.
OpenSync partnered with Young Kang to help KAON access new markets, extend the lifespan of KAON's customer equipment, and strengthen customer relationships with internet service providers. Emily O’Donnell of Evolution Digital highlighted OpenSync's responsiveness and communication in their partnership. Emanuel Yusopov noted that a partnership with OpenSync facilitated access to new markets, and that Plume offers a streamlined solution for enhancing wireless access and user experience. On July 16, 2024, Zyxel Communications announced a firmware update for its EX7710 Wi-Fi 6E Multi-Gigabit Ethernet Gateway, enabling 10Gbps internet speeds. OpenSync certified this update, making the EX7710 the only 10G gateway to achieve multi-gig speeds across OpenSync's HomePass and WorkPass applications. The EX7710 uses Speedtest Embedded by Ookla for bandwidth measurement.
