Orange Slovensko, a.s., operating as Orange Slovakia, is a privately owned Slovak telecommunications company founded in 1997. A subsidiary of Orange Europe, it employs approximately 1150 people and is headquartered in Slovakia. While primarily known as a mobile network operator offering fibre connections, its revenue in 2022 was less than $50 million. Pay TV services are also part of its product offerings.
In 2024, Orange Slovakia experienced a net loss of 4839 telephone numbers through mobile number porting. Revenues for the year totaled EUR 574.3 million, a 2 percent decrease compared to 2023. However, mobile service revenues increased by 2.8 percent to EUR 414.5 million, driven by a 0.1 percent rise in mobile subscribers to 2.392 million. The number of mobile postpaid users grew by 0.9 percent to 2.124 million, and the fixed broadband subscriber base reached 235,000, a 0.8 percent increase. Orange Slovakia also began testing its 5G standalone (SA) network at various locations, initially focusing on B2B customers, and expanded its 5G network coverage to three additional villages, increasing overall population coverage to 82.8 percent. Ookla speed tests placed Orange Slovakia second in mobile broadband speeds during the second half of 2024, recording median download speeds of 81.33 Mbps and upload speeds of 12.04 Mbps.
