Pakistan Hockey Federation
Pakistan Hockey Federation, a state-owned entity headquartered in Pakistan, founded in 1948 with approximately 40 employees, reported $5.5M in revenue as of 2023. The organization serves as the governing body for field hockey in Pakistan, a sport recognized as the country's national sport, and administers the Pakistan national field hockey team. It is affiliated with the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and became a founding member of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) in 1958, having been a member of FIH since 1948. The current Patron-in-Chief is Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khakan Abbasi, and its President is Khalid S. Khokhar. The national team holds a record of four championships in the Hockey World Cup (1971, 1978, 1982, 1994), holds the best overall performance in World Cup history with 53 victories in 84 matches, seven draws, six appearances in the finals, and 24 losses, and has participated in all FIH World Cup editions except 2014. It has secured eight gold medals in the Asian Games (1958, 1962, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1990, 2010), three Champions Trophy titles (1978, 1980, 1994) as the only Asian team to do so, and three Olympic gold medals (Rome 1960, Mexico City 1968, Los Angeles 1984), accumulating a total of 29 official international titles. The team was ranked #1 globally by FIH from 2000 to 2001.
