Plaion, a privately owned German company founded in 1994, employs approximately 210 people. Its primary business is in the consumer gaming sector, though it also produces and distributes films and software. Previously known as Koch Media, the company's headquarters remain in Germany.
Plaion announced a global distribution partnership with Pearl Abyss for physical copies of Crimson Desert on August 27. This partnership covers the worldwide physical release of the open-world action-adventure game. A later announcement confirmed that the game's release is delayed until 2026. Separately, Plaion also released a story expansion, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – Legacy of the Forge, for PC and consoles.
