Also on March 5, the No.7 seed Yahya Elnawasany staged a comeback to eliminate top-ranked Marwan ElShorbagy in the AirSprint Private Aviation Canadian Men’s Open 2026 quarter-final, marking Elnawasany's first win against a top-10 ranked player on the tour.
