Sony acquires KinaTrax as Sony's sports business sees continued expansion into athlete performance
Sony has acquired markerless motion-capture company KinaTrax. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed to SBJ. The addition of KinaTrax fits into a sports business portfolio that also includes Hawk-Eye, Beyond Sports and Pulselive. This deal in particular marries KinaTrax biomechanic tech with Hawk-Eye's tracking capabilities for broadcasts and officiating support.
