Radio Nacional TGW

Radio Nacional TGW, a state-owned entity headquartered in Guatemala, was founded in 1930 and operates with approximately 60 employees. The company reported $12.2M in revenue as of 2024. Functioning as the official state-run national radio station of the Republic of Guatemala and a pioneer of Guatemalan broadcasting, it operates under the direct oversight of the General Directorate of National Radio and Television (DGRTN), a subordinate agency of the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure, and Housing. TGW is entirely funded by the state budget and is statutorily prohibited from broadcasting commercial advertising, instead transmitting institutional declarations, public interest announcements, and cultural programming designed to reinforce national identity.
