Radiocom (Societatea Naţională de Radiocomunicaţii SA) is a state-owned Romanian company founded in 1991 and headquartered in Romania. It operates in two main fields: electronic communications and broadcasting, and data transmission. The company provides connectivity and distribution services and has a workforce of approximately 350 employees. As of 2023, Radiocom's annual revenue is estimated to be less than $100 million.
Radiocom, a Flemish company specialising in critical radio communication services, was acquired by Citymesh. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) published a framework for developing standards and radio interface technologies for the sixth generation of mobile systems (6G). The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly (RA-23) approved the framework, detailed in Recommendation ITU-R M.2160, during a meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. ITU also highlighted the importance of its Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) in supporting space research and exploration, including Earth observation and climate monitoring.
