Rebellion, a privately owned company headquartered in the UK, was founded in December 1992 by brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley. The enterprise, which initially focused on interactive entertainment and gaming, has approximately 480 employees. The company operates as a vertically integrated British video game developer, book publisher, and multimedia film studio. Rebellion established its reputation in the interactive entertainment sector by developing AAA gaming franchises. Through corporate expansions, including the acquisition of Fleetway Publications in 2000, which granted it ownership of the comic book universe 2000 AD, the company transformed into a cross-media studio. It functions as an independent intellectual property incubator that spans digital gaming, software engineering, graphic literature, and cinematic adaptations. Its portfolio includes the Sniper Elite stealth-shooter gaming series, the Zombie Army saga, the 2025 action-survival game Atomfall, and comic book properties such as Judge Dredd, Rogue Trooper, and Sláine.
On April 26th, a new Horde Mode was released as a free update for Zombie Army VR, featuring four new maps. On an unspecified date, a teaser trailer was released for The Red Strain, a story expansion pack for Atomfall®, with a release date of September 16th. Also on an unspecified date, a new Mission Weapons and Skin Pack, titled "Mud and Thunder," launched for Sniper Elite: Resistance. Finally, on an unspecified date, Zombie Army VR was released, allowing players to fight undead Nazi hordes. Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO, will publish a debut novel, *Lord of Blackthorne*, following a successful Kickstarter campaign.
