The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) is a state-owned Russian satellite communications operator founded in 1967 and headquartered in Russia. The company provides connectivity and distribution services and had less than $250 million in revenue in 2021. RSCC has a staff of 60 employees.
On March 5th, 2024, RSCC reported an 8% revenue increase compared to the previous year, reaching 15 billion rubles. RSCC's General Director Alexey Volin announced this at a management meeting in Dubna. A distance marker indicating the 40,502 km distance between the Bellingshausen station in Antarctica and the Express-AM8 satellite was installed. This satellite, located at 14°W in geostationary orbit, provides the station with Russian television channels and communications. The Space Communications Center (SCC) Dubna, RSCC's largest teleport, celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2025, having facilitated the broadcast of the 1980 Summer Olympics on over 20 international channels. Volin also commented on the role of artificial intelligence, stating that while it is a helpful tool, final decisions remain the responsibility of humans, during a panel discussion at the Development Summit 2025. Satellite communication's importance in ensuring Russia's information security and sovereignty was highlighted by Volin in a lecture at the First Forum.
