Solid State Logic (SSL), a privately owned UK-based company founded in 1969, designs and manufactures audio mixing consoles and recording studio systems. Employing approximately 140 people, the company, a subsidiary of Audiotonix, reported revenues of around $50 million in 2023.
Solid State Logic introduced the ALPHA 8 studio expander, an 8-in/8-out AD/DA converter and 18-in/18-out USB audio interface, on an unspecified date. The ALPHA 8 features 32-bit/192 kHz converters and offers analog and digital I/O. Later, Solid State Logic upgraded its System T Cloud mixing engine with native support for NDI, supplementing existing Dante Connect audio transport. This upgrade facilitates faster deployment and management of distributed production workflows, enabling broadcasters to process audio from NDI-enabled devices. Solid State Logic announced plans to detail this NDI update, along with two new hardware control tiles, at the 2025 NAB Show in Las Vegas.
