As of 2023, the league employed approximately 30 people. Its primary activity is the organization and operation of spectator sports events.
The SPHL renewed its partnership with DASH, a digital auction and e-commerce platform, on September 10, 2025. This partnership, which began in 2018, aims to help clubs increase revenue and improve fan experiences. On April 24, 2025, the SPHL announced Jordan Ernst of the Peoria Rivermen as the 2024-2025 SPHL Most Valuable Player; Leif Mattson and Zach Wilkie were runners-up.
