The company functions as a communications and IT services provider, delivering communication services to the Maritime, Energy, Mining, Media, Telecom, Cruise, NGO, Government, and Enterprise sectors.
On September 10, 2026, Speedcast appointed Ross Rosenberg as Chief Executive Officer, effective in September, aiming to expand the company beyond connectivity into AI-enabled network and edge intelligence. Rosenberg succeeded Jim Frownfelter, who returned to his previous role as executive chairman after serving as both CEO and chairman since January 2024, a period during which he made Speedcast a leader in LEO connectivity. Previously, on August 24, Speedcast secured a multi-year contract with TGS, a provider of data and intelligence to the energy industry, to implement an all-LEO satellite solution across its fleet. The agreement provides ultra-high bandwidth and low-latency data services for TGS's digital operations. Speedcast also serves as the world's largest Starlink Authorized Reseller.
