Television Kanagawa, also known as tvk, is a privately owned company headquartered in Japan, functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer. Founded in 1971, the company operates broadcast television and radio services, employing approximately 150 individuals. It is an independent terrestrial television station in Japan, serving the Kanagawa Prefecture and the greater Tokyo Metropolitan area. Headquartered in Yokohama, it is the flagship member of the Japanese Association of Independent Television Stations (JAITS). The company maintains a "Music & Subculture" identity, having launched the careers of numerous J-Pop and Rock artists through programs like Saku Saku and Mutoma. On August 13, 2026, Television Kanagawa (TVK) hailed the DMK government's announcement of new investment commitments totaling Rs 67,452 crore. These commitments, secured through 97 company-level MoUs at the inaugural Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, are projected to generate more than one lakh jobs across 16 sectors. Earlier, on August 9, the ruling TVK expanded its organizational structure by carving out 27 new party districts from its existing framework, increasing the total number of party district units to 147. The party also appointed three former AIADMK-era ministers as district organizers and inducted ten additional deputy general secretaries. This followed news from July 30, when TVK mulled privatizing liquor retail sales in Tamil Nadu under strict regulation amidst the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption's (DVAC) intensified probe into a multi-crore liquor scam, which allegedly involved former DMK Minister V Senthil Balaji.
