Telia Company, a publicly owned entity headquartered in Sweden, founded in 1853, employs approximately 19,570 individuals. It reported $8.3B in revenue as of 2025. As a multinational telecommunications and media services provider, the company operates across the Nordic and Baltic regions, offering services including Mobile, Broadband, and TV to consumers in markets such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, and Lithuania. It also focuses on 5G innovation, IoT solutions, and business-focused offerings such as Global Business Solutions and Crowd Insights. Telia Company maintains approximately 25 million total subscriptions and focuses on sustainability goals, including CO2e reduction in its operations.
Telia sued Telenor on July 8, 2026, seeking to prevent its rival from using marketing claims such as "Sweden's best network" and "Sweden's fastest 5G network," arguing the wording is misleading and requesting a penalty fine in the millions. This followed Telia's participation in technology and communications M&A activity on July 7, which saw the company expand its fiber network services. Also on July 7, Telia reported stopping approximately 21 million suspected fraud calls across its network in the first half of 2026, a 33 percent decrease from 2025. This reduction, affecting 10 million fewer calls than the previous year, coincided with strengthened protection measures and expanded industry-wide work against fraud, primarily in Sweden. Of these, approximately 14 million were wangiri and other spam calls, and 7 million were spoof calls.
