Telkom Indonesia is a state-owned information and communications technology enterprise and telecommunications network headquartered in Indonesia. Founded in 1965, the company employs approximately 17,800 individuals and reported $9.4B in revenue as of 2024. Functioning as a major telecom operator, it offers fixed line broadband and television services to homes and businesses across Indonesia. Telkom is also the parent company of the Indonesian mobile phone operator Telkomsel.
Telkom Indonesia and PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) officially established a strategic collaboration on April 20, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to integrate digital infrastructure with low-carbon energy supply. This partnership will explore using biomethane, derived from palm oil waste in Sumatra, to power TelkomGroup’s data centers in Indonesia, with the aim of developing a biomethane-based green data center. PGN stated on April 13 that the MoU advances a green digital ecosystem. Previously, on April 13, Telkom Indonesia notified shareholders of the cancellation of its Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS), which was originally scheduled for April 24, 2026, and had been announced on March 18, 2026.
