The Pokémon Company International, a privately owned US-based company founded in 1996, is a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company (Japan). Employing approximately 1350 people, it oversees the Pokémon franchise's operations outside of Asia. Its responsibilities encompass brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated television series, home entertainment distribution, and maintenance of the official Pokémon website.
