This followed Lionsgate's confirmation on April 30 that a sequel to the Michael Jackson biopic "Michael" is in development, after the film pulled in $97 million domestically in its opening weekend and $218.8 million worldwide, adding $11 million on Tuesday alone. Previously, on April 29, the musical biopic was already generating sequel buzz after a record-smashing debut.
